Verdades Latentes is a project I worked on with passion and dedication, using my data visualization skills and knowledge of technology. This interactive and sonorous visualization aims to raise awareness about the victims of landmines in the Colombian armed conflict. From the very beginning, my goal was to transform cold statistics into a moving and human experience, employing advanced data visualization techniques such as Touch Designer and Arduino to simulate heartbeats. As I explored the visualization, I could immerse myself in the lives and experiences of the victims, and each simulated heartbeat reminded me of the fragility of life and the importance of understanding the human impact behind the data. With Verdades Latentes, I sought not only to inform but also to create a space for reflection and dialogue, with the hope of promoting empathy and commitment to building a fairer and safer future for all. This project has been a rewarding and meaningful experience for me, and I am proud to have been able to contribute my skills to make a positive change in our society.
This visualization was selected to be exhibited in a hybrid digital art exhibition, called ARTIFICIO for the Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Foundation in 2023, which serves as a space destined to open and consolidate the field of artistic creation with tools and digital supports.
